about

International troubadour Sean Taylor is currently working on a collection of songs about dementia. These songs are co-written with cartoonist and poet Tony Husband featuring a collective of different musicians (Steve Milton, Jason Read, Mal Troon, Mark Hallman). Tony released the beautiful book ‘Take Care, Son: The Story of My Dad and his Dementia’ which illustrated story of Tony's father and how dementia slowly took him away from his family. After reading Tony’s tender poetry Sean together with producer Jason Read immediately began work on the music.

All proceeds from this project go to Musica Music and Wellbeing CIC, a community interest company specialising in dementia care. Musica is celebrating its 10th anniversary by launching Just One Hour, a campaign asking every caregiver in the UK to sign up to the #JustOneHour pledge which aims to spark a cultural change in dementia care through music.

The songs can be found @ musicamusic.bandcamp.com/releases ... The first single ‘The Rhythm Inside’ was released in December and the new single ‘I think I know it’s you’ is released in the coming days …

lyrics

As memories fall like autumn leaves
From even the mightiest of the trees
I think I know who you may be
And why you mean so much to me

So in my soul I try to stir
Thoughts of what we once were
What we were I think I know
That in my arms I watched you grow

My boy of course it’s you
Memories may fade
But love is true

I’m not sure what and who I have been
And to who I must mean
But your smile it warms my very soul
It keeps me calm and makes me whole

I know you Dad and what you were
As we sit here your mind is a blur
All those mighty heights you reached
Like landing on that D day beach

My boy of course it’s you
Memories may fade
But love is true
